This machine is a Dando 150 type rig. We use this machine for a variety of drilling work as it has extremely good capabilities. We would generally use 150mm to 300mm diameter casing. We normally mobilise this rig with a land-rover and equipment to drill holes to 15 metres x 150mm in diameter. Where soft ground is a problem we offer low ground pressure tyres on the rig. We can also offer our own track carrier. This means that damage and rutting on cropland is kept to a minimum.

Our track carrier is big enough to cope with the rig in bad ground conditions, but also light enough for us to be able to move it to site ourselves with a trailer. We have a unique dry sampler that enables us to drill dry sand and gravel deposits. This means we don’t need to bring water bowsers onto site, keeping us working and not in and out filling up water bowsers. Obviously, where holes need balancing for testing etc, then bowsers will be required but for quarry drilling work our system is second to none for sampling.
